Anterior wedging of 3 or more adjacent thoracic vertebral bodies.
Vertebrae grow unevenly with respect to the sagittal plane:
i.e. the anterior angle is often greater than the posterior.
This uneven growth results in the signature "wedging" shape of the vertebrae
causing kyphosis.
Self-limiting after growth is complete.
